While surfing through tech news with a head full of mucus, I thought I could find something to take my mind off the pounding pain of a sinus headache. Then I stumbled on Microsoft’s decision to end upgrade packages with Office 2010.
It’s one of those decisions that seemed like a good idea if you followed the premises: Customers complain about the complicated structure of a pricing plan for a product, the company responds by simplifying the line. Then you hit the conclusion of “Well we’re gonna take out the cheaper version” in a recession and, well, I’m just happy I didn’t pop a blood vessel in my brain thinking too hard about that.
