Need something for New Year's Eve/Day?

Dec 31 2009 Published by Kyle Buis under Uncategorized

Do you have no plans tonight? Are you riddled with a vicious cold that’s wiped out any chance of going out?

Maybe you have a life, but have a hangover to look forward to tomorrow and need something to get you through it.

Well how about getting 9 hours of comedy audio AND video featuring the likes of Jon Hamm of “Mad Men” fame or Chris Hardwick, formerly of MTV’s “Singled Out,” for just $10.

Well look no further than the Pardcast-a-Thon, hosted by Never Not Funny’s Jimmy Pardo. The 9-hour comedy marathon went to benefit Smile Train, an organization that fixes children’s cleft palates with a short surgery for free. Each surgery would cost $250, a cost that Smile Train covers.

I sent out a few messages about this when the event actually happened a couple of days after Thanksgiving. Originally I was going to pitch this as a Christmas present with the 25 hours of Christmas last week, but unfortunately their servers were down. However they’re back with even faster servers.

The guest list includes:

  • Jon Hamm
  • Chris Hardwick
  • Greg Behrendt
  • Maria Bamford
  • Oscar Nunez
  • Paul Gilmartin
  • Rich Sommer
  • Jimmy Dore
  • Scott Aukerman
  • Danielle Koenig
  • Todd Levin
  • Jordan Morris
  • Rachel Quaintance
  • Brody Stevens
  • Dan Kaufman
  • Janet Varney

Hours of entertainment for a good cause. What better way to cope with the morning after?

There really is everything on the Internet, even big rig wrecks

Dec 28 2009 Published by Kyle Buis under Uncategorized

Sometimes when you’re doing a Google image search you might stumble onto a great picture. Sometimes when you peel off the back end of the URL, you may notice something to kill half of an afternoon.

Something like Truck Accidents 360 Newswire which, as its name implies, is a blog dedicated to nothing but big rig accidents across the nation, complete with photos, video and locator maps.

If you missed the 24 hours of Christmas yesterday, you can still read them all. Check out the tag in the right column under the ads and click on “24 hours of Christmas.”

Hour 25: It's over

Dec 25 2009 Published by Kyle Buis under Uncategorized

24 hours of streaking around the world is coming to an end. Well, technically 25 hours. Santa is wrapping things up with a couple of countries butting up against the International Date Line.

Thank you all for following along. Big shout out for the people at Fremont-Rideout who will be mending the many gashes on my body. I hope to be out by noon to enjoy the rest of Christmas.

And have yourself a Merry little Christmas.

Hour 24: Almost there, just a few more minutes

Dec 25 2009 Published by Kyle Buis under Uncategorized

The ambulance has finally arrived and I think I’m going to be OK. I’m not going to let them take me away just yet, because I have to make it to the end of these 25 hours. I’m currently typing this from a gurney. They told me that despite the length of my beating, I was actually quite lucky as the emergency room has been flooded with Krampus victims. Even a few local politicians whose names they told me off the record, but I can’t disclose here.

But the real reason for tonight’s blog is the man currently in the middle of his island hopping adventure in the Pacific. Think of it like a cool down lap after a long run.  Included are American Samoa, the Midway Islands, Kingman Reef and Samoa.
